The City of Anderson Board of Works has approved two economic development incentive agreements. Go Electric, Inc. and SES, Inc. are both emerging technology startups that will help bring research and technology jobs and investment back to Anderson.
Go Electric Inc., a green technology start-up company headquartered in the Levinson Center at the Flagship Enterprise Center in Anderson, Indiana, was recently awarded a $2.99 million Small Business Innovation Research Rapid Innovation Fund (SBIR RIF) contract for the SPIDERS micro grid project at Camp Smith in Hawaii. The City is helping to support Go Electric, Inc. with a $50,000 economic development grant that will be used in tandem with the company’s own capital investment in an enhanced test cell in Anderson to advance this project. Go Electric, Inc. will remain in Anderson where it was founded and invest $100,000 in its new facility while creating 11 jobs with the first (SBIR RIF) contract maintaining a payroll of $500,000 over the next three years.
Stored Energy Solutions Inc., a green technology start-up company originally located in Syracuse, Indiana, focusing on energy conservation and recovery systems for the refuse market. The City is supporting SES, Inc. with a $50,000 economic development grant that will assist the company in its relocation to Anderson to begin the process of developing functional prototypes and ending with a commercial product ready for market. Also, SES will be relocating to the Flagship Enterprise Center where SES will bring $225,000 of new capital investment and between 11 & 15 high-paying jobs over the next two years.
