City of Anderson launches the HireAnderson program

Anderson’s manufacturing foundation continues to expand, often due to the Anderson workforce and its manufacturing experience.

To provide workers for these companies and jobs for Anderson residents, the City of Anderson is launching HireAnderson, an employment web portal.

This initiative is specifically geared towards Anderson residents and focuses on connecting unemployed or under employed citizens with employers at various local manufacturing facilities and businesses. Applicants will also be connected with organizations that assist with job placement and training.

HireAnderson has been specifically designed to allow citizens to quickly and easily fill in basic employment information. Job seekers do not need a resume to apply although a resume can be uploaded. Entering basic contact information, work history and an educational history takes a matter of minutes. The City of Anderson encourages unemployed and underemployed Anderson residents of all skill levels to register on the HireAnderson database.

“The Hire Anderson program is designed to connect Anderson citizens looking for jobs with existing and new Anderson companies seeking employees,” said Greg Winkler, Director of Economic Development.

At a recent job fair offered by JobSource/WorkOne, over 1000 job openings were available. Employers throughout Anderson and Madison County are seeking currently employees. With the HireAnderson tool, jobseekers will be connected to local employers and to job training.

“Anderson residents are ready, willing, and able to apply and get the jobs that are available and the City wants to give them the best chance at connecting with the right job and the right company,” states Mayor Kevin S. Smith.

In addition to the HireAnderson web form, the City will also maintain a directory of local companies for which Anderson residents can directly apply. This will enable job seekers to quickly apply at specific local companies.

Anderson residents may access the HireAnderson portal by going to www.CityofAnderson.com and clicking on the red HireAnderson button.
