[ARCHIVED] Italpollina to build North American Headquarters in Anderson, Indiana

Mayor Thomas Broderick and Luca Bonini, Italpollina’s chief executive officer, proudly announce the arrival of Italpollina’s North American headquarters to Anderson, Indiana.

Italpollina is a world leader in the production of organic fertilizers, biostimulants of vegetal origin and beneficial microorganisms. Italpollina’s newest facility will bring over $9 million in investment and 35 jobs to the central Indiana city.

“Through the hard work and continuing efforts of our economic development team, we have brought Italpollina home to Anderson. We expect great things from Italpollina and look forward to growing right along with them,” states Mayor Broderick.

Italpollina was founded in Rivoli Veronese, Italy in 1971 with the innovative idea to create and produce fertilizers and biostimulants for plant nutrition while protecting the environment. Over the coming decades, the company grew rapidly in the biotech sector and distributed its products throughout Europe, South American, Africa and Asia while it opened factories and an international research and development center in Europe and South America. In 2011, Italpollina opened its largest factory for the production of its proprietary organic biostimulant based on vegetal peptides and amino acids.

“The construction of this new plant is a very exciting step for our company since it confirms our commitment to the US market and shows the importance of biotechnologies in agriculture. In Anderson, we have found the right mix of a skilled workforce and a business friendly environment. We are really looking forward to expanding our activity in the US with the creation of our new North American headquarters in Indiana,” says Luca Bonini, CEO of Italpollina.

With local developer, Fredericks, Inc., Italpollina has begun the process of planning its North American headquarters. Designed by krM Architecture, the new 70,000+ square foot facility will be located west of the Flagship Purdue P3 facility on the former GM Scatterfield site. With construction commencing in the coming months, the company anticipates being operational in 2017 to begin production for its customers throughout North America and the world.

With employees located across the globe, Italpollina will begin to hire engineers, administrators, machine operators, quality control professionals, skilled equipment mechanics and production line associates for its Anderson location beginning in 2017.

Over the past decade, Anderson has actively cultivated relationships with international companies and has attracted foreign capital, talent, and technologies. Italpollina’s investment will continue the growth of international companies locally and will continue the redevelopment of one of the largest brownfield sites in Anderson that started with the Flagship Purdue P3 facility.
